Number of chains changed after remediation
Source: [1]
Before remediation, PDB file 4CPA had three chains:
Protein polymer chain with no identifier, 307 residues Protein polymer chain I, 38 residues Protein monomer "chain" G, a single GLY residue
After remediation, 4CPA has 6 chains:
A, B = two copies of the chain formerly lacking an identifier I, J = two copies of the former chain I G, H = two copies of the single-residue GLY "chain"
The reason is that the ASU was not deposited originally and the wwPDB remediation generated the complete ASU (same for all single crystal X-Ray non-virial particule entries) which required new chain generation and assignments.
